Terms of service and sale

Last updated November 2, 2026

1. These terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Wright Wold Scientific LLC, a Delaware limited liability company doing business as SwiftSCIENCE ("SwiftSCIENCE", "we", "us"). They cover this website, the SwiftSCIENCE Research Platform, SwiftSENSE and SwiftSENSE Edge, SwifTAG products and orders, and the subscriptions you buy from us. By creating an account, placing an order or using our services, you accept them. If you accept them for an organization, you confirm that you may bind it, and "you" means that organization.

A written quote, statement of work or agreement signed by both of us takes priority over these terms where they differ. Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal information.

2. This website

This website describes our products and services. Product details, availability and prices can change; the price shown when you place an order is the one that applies.

3. Accounts

  • Give accurate information, keep your sign-in details to yourself and tell us at once if you think someone else has used them.
  • Your organization decides who joins its account and what each person may do, and is responsible for what they do there.
  • Accounts are for people, not shared logins: give each person their own.

4. The Research Platform

  • Plans. The Free plan, paid plans such as Research team, and organization or facility plans by quote each come with the limits shown on our pricing page or in your quote.
  • Trials. A trial lets you use a paid plan free for the time shown when you start it. When it ends, you can choose a paid plan; otherwise your account moves to the Free plan and its limits.
  • Early access. While the Research Platform is in early access, features may change, and we will tell you in good time before we remove anything you rely on.
  • AI features. AI features propose drafts and suggestions that a person reviews and confirms; they can be wrong, so check them as you would a colleague's work. They are included only in the plans and add-ons that list them.

5. Fees, renewal and cancellation

  • Prices are in US dollars. Taxes and duties are extra; where we must collect sales tax, it is shown at checkout or on your invoice.
  • Subscriptions, including the platform's paid plans, the AI assistant and SwifTAG tags every month, renew automatically for the same period (a month or a year) until you cancel, and are charged at the start of each period.
  • You can cancel any time from your account or by emailing us. The subscription then ends at the end of the period you have already paid for: you keep what you paid for until then, and we do not refund part of a period.
  • We will tell you at least 30 days before a price change applies to your subscription.
  • Invoices for quoted orders and plans are due within 30 days of the invoice date unless the quote says otherwise.
  • If a payment fails and is not settled after we tell you, we may pause your account until it is.

6. Your data

  • Your organization owns the data it puts into our services: its studies, animals, measurements, files and footage. You give us the rights we need to store, process and show it to the people you choose, to provide the services to you, and for the uses this section describes.
  • Footage and our models. You allow SwiftSCIENCE to use footage, and the activity data made from it, that reach our hosted services to train and improve our models and build our research datasets, separated from your organization's name, studies and records. We may keep footage used this way after your account closes. You can opt out at any time by emailing us; footage already used in a trained model stays in that model.
  • SwiftSENSE Edge. Footage that stays on a SwiftSENSE Edge computer at your site is never collected. You can choose to share footage, labels or feedback from it with us, such as your corrections to the AI's readings, to help improve our models and products; what you share is used as the paragraph above describes.
  • Research services. For footage you send us for research services, the scope we agree with you decides whether it may be used to improve our models.
  • We never sell your data, and we never show it publicly or in a case study without your written permission. Apart from footage as described above, we do not use your data to train models without your written permission.
  • You can export your data at any time. After your account closes, it stays available to export for 90 days and is then deleted, except footage kept as described above, as our privacy policy explains.
  • Do not put human health information or other personal data the services are not meant for into them; they are made for animal research and animal care records.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use our services against the law or the rights of others, or to store unlawful content;
  • copy, resell or reverse engineer the services, or use them to build a competing product;
  • probe, test or work around the services' security without our written permission;
  • overload the services, or reach them by automated means other than the ones we provide.

8. Research, animal care and regulations

  • You remain responsible for the care and use of your animals and for following the protocols approved by your IACUC and the laws and policies that apply to you. Our services help you record, check and review; they do not make regulatory decisions for you.
  • Checks made on video do not replace the hands-on checks your approved procedures require.
  • Our products are not medical devices, have not been cleared or approved by the FDA, and are not for diagnosing or treating people.

9. SwifTAG and other hardware

  • Ordering. You can order online by card, or ask us for a quote and pay against a purchase order or invoice. No platform plan is needed to buy tags. An order is accepted when we confirm it.
  • Shipping. We ship to addresses in the United States. Delivery times shown with a product are estimates. Ownership and the risk of loss pass to you on delivery.
  • Returns. You can return unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a refund. Email us first and we will tell you how to send them; you pay the return shipping unless the item was defective or not what you ordered. RFID tags cannot be returned once their sterile pack is opened.
  • Warranty. Readers and starter kits are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for 1 year from delivery; tags are warranted against defects on arrival. If an item fails under warranty, we will repair or replace it, or refund it if we cannot. The warranty does not cover misuse, accidents, modifications or normal wear.
  • Using tags. SwifTAG tags are for identifying research animals. Implant them under your approved procedures; they are not for use in people.
  • Monthly tags. SwifTAG tags every month can be changed, paused or ended at any time; changes apply from the next box, and section 5 applies to cancelling.

10. Research services

Our research services are provided under the written scope and quote we agree with you, which sets out the inputs, deliverables, timing and price.

11. Confidentiality

Each of us will keep the other's non-public business, technical and research information confidential, use it only for our work together and as section 6 allows, and share it only with people who need it and are bound to keep it confidential.

12. Our products and your feedback

We own our software, hardware designs, website and content, and these terms give you the right to use them, not ownership of them. If you send us suggestions, we may use them without obligation to you.

13. Disclaimers

Except for the hardware warranty above, our services and products are provided "as is" and "as available", and we disclaim all other warranties to the fullest extent the law allows, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not promise that the services will be uninterrupted or error-free.

14. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, neither of us is liable to the other for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data, and our total liability under these terms is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or $100 if you paid nothing). These limits do not apply where the law does not allow them.

15. Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify SwiftSCIENCE against claims by third parties arising from your data or from your use of our services or products in breach of these terms or the law.

16. Suspension and ending

You can stop using our services and close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, does not pay, or puts our services or other customers at risk; where we can, we will warn you first and give you time to fix it. When an account closes, sections 6 and 11 to 19 continue to apply.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will post the new version here with a new date, and email account owners about changes that matter to them before they take effect. If you keep using our services after that, the new terms apply.

18. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts for Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, and each of us agrees to their jurisdiction.

19. General

These terms, with any quote or agreement signed by both of us, are the whole agreement between us about their subject. If part of them cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. Neither of us is liable for delays caused by events beyond our reasonable control. You may not transfer these terms without our consent; we may transfer them with our business. Notices to us go to info@swiftscience.com; we send notices to your account's email address.
